lyrics
When I was just a little birdie sitting up in the tree,
There was no one there beside me, mama bird was out on a wing.
I want to tell you this thing that I’ve been thinking about,
But I’m just a little birdie, and I don’t have a mouth,
And no, you can’t speak with a beak.
And I’ve got a problem of my own,
I am just little birdie sitting out in the cold.
When I was just little kitty on the back of the couch,
The blanket was all around my body
I was warm and dreamed of chasing a mouse.
The neighborhood cats peak through the window,
Sometimes they put their paws on the glass,
And I run away with my tail all puffed-up thinking,
My god what an ugly cat, wishing I could kick its ass.
And I’ve got a problem of my own,
For I am just a little kitty staring out into the cold.
You know I’ve got a problem of my own,
I am just a little human staring out into the cold.

This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
