Someone is speaking softly above the din.
Reg turns to look but there isn’t anyone there.
Just the silhouette of a blank cassette he sees through the curtain.
I see it too, but it’s nothing new, it just happens to be there.
Christopher, you’re somewhere, some other place high above nothing.
If Reg is me, and you are you, and we live in an imagined world,
And if this isn’t real, then why do I feel everything is so true:
The sunshine, the moonshine, the shade of a balcony.
Isn’t it wild, isn’t grand? Except that there’s just no you.
Christopher, you’re somewhere, some other place high above nothing.
So I just sit and wonder why I still think of you all the time,
Our bodies were joined before, but they’re not anymore, there’s no longer that internal rhyme.
But that’s right, I’m probably just trying to write you to be Jeanie,
And if you are then I’ll make you sing that same refrain:
Christopher, you’re somewhere, some other place high above nothing.

This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
